THE ASSET
The founding of the Bank of America traces back to 1904 with a new bank called Bank of Italy, based in San Francisco, California. Over three next three decades the Bank grew, acquired and merged with other banks and by 1930, the name was changed to Bank of America. Bank of America was acquired by NationsBank in 1998, but it was determined the Bank of America name was superior for marketing.
Bank of America has a market capitalization of $164.4 Billion (October 2015) with over 5,000 bank branches and over 240,000 full time employees.
